Mine has a thin white deposit on the inside of the lens that looks something like condensation. It isn't too hard to remove but actually reaching the lens through the hole for the bulb is difficult because of the cap or shield that goes in front of the bulb. If I do decide to replace it (Bosch H4) is there another make or type of headlamp that would be significantly better, or are they all much the same?

Anything from Cibie will be an improvement especially when fitted with a HID 50 (from Les Wassall of course!)

John.

You don't say what model Airhead, but if its useful I have an ST and on this model the lens and reflector are seperate parts.

Use 2 'medium' flat blade screwdrivers to VERY CAREFULLY prise lens away from the reflector (after having first removed the rim of course). The rubber seal will probably have 'bonded' itself to the reflector and will become damaged.
Don't touch the surface of the reflector.
Wash the lens in fairy liquid and rinse well.
Motobins have replacement seals.
Reassemble.
Ride bike.
Enjoy.

I've just done this and it does make a difference.

Sorry, it's a 1982 R100RS, I didn't know the lens could parted from the reflector, I'll have a looksee. :thumb2
