What do you guys think about starting a thread for sourcing Airhead parts and accessories?

I know we have on this-ere forum a for sale and wanted section, but do you look at it as often as you do the Airhead forum? :nenau Do 'you' put all your unused/unwanted Airhead bits and bobs in the for sale and wanted section???

Say you're looking for a replacement drive shaft for an R80 G/S or a left hand fork leg for an R100R etc etc. Yeah yeah I know M-bins, M-wrks, James S and Co are there, but why not ask the question of the members first?
It would make sence would it not, to have a thread in which these questions can be asked, with a much enhanced chance of getting a positive reply (or even getting a reply at all) even if it's just pointing you towards someone who might know where to find what you've been looking for.

What do you think? Would it work?

No Val,
use the fs & wtd forum like everyone else.
otherwise you will get each forum having its own threads.

Having used other forums until recently,. it would be useful for the for sale / wanteds to be split by airheads, oilheads or whatever. Just a suggestion.

i reckon a waste of time unless the adverts are deleted promptly;)
a lot of people cannot be bothered to feedback if they have sold ,or got the item they have wanted.
infact many times i have pm'ed people with adverts for things, i have seen advertised .
they don't even bother to let me know the outcome:( so i cant be ar**d anymore, mmmm

i have asked the mods to delete old adverts but they have enough to do.

val just take a hunt around the f650 forum:rolleyes: full of old adverts and wasted webspace.:rob

not being rude... but surely you're not incapable of doing a search for stuff you need or want....

It would get far worse splitting it up... someone may have a few bits from different bikes or things that could fit more than one of the bikes and if they put it in say an oilhead section you'd miss it altogether.... also if you've noticed it bothers airhead owners at the moment to post stuff in the right sections what chance would they have in putting it in another sub-section of the FS&W :D

Not incapable, I was just describing how I would find it easier. As I said, it was just a suggestion and nothing more, and I am just happy that so many folk are helping me out. :thumb2

Ok, some good points there guys.

Jase your right about the seeming inability of members to close or delete their sale and want threads.

The parts I mentioned are just examples (if your saying 'BigJets has them). What I actually need is a single seat that I can cut down, if anyone knows where I can find one.

Val.

I'll head off to check my thread on the wanted section now. :blast
