Do they still tell passengers on planes to switch off their electronic stuff? Usually I just switch my mobile off and think no more about it, but should I be switching my iPad to Airplane Mode, whatever that is?

Obviously just switching it off, or letting it go off by itself after one or two minutes doesn't totally switch it off because it still goes ping when it gets an email. Is that good enough for boarding a plane?

Needs to be in airplane mode. Basically this switches off all the radios like wifi and blutooth but still leaves everything else usable.

Monarch were insistent on airplane mode, or switched off, on all electrical devices...ipad, phones etc

With airplane mode switched on you can then reselect wifi and bluetooth to on - 'tho what for I'm not sure!
