Hi Stick,off topic I know. What is the luggage doo dah that you have replacing the pillion seat on your rather splendid GS and does it prevent water getting onto the electricals beneath as the seat would?

It's a bmw luggage plate. Excellent if travelling solo. Isn't waterproof just spray a bit of acf50 on electrics but they get damp even with the seat on.

Morning , it as Billy says , but mine is modified as the standard is bolted to the rear , the mod is a plate that allows it to come off with the key as to allow quick change when the pillion seat is required .

Here a link to the rear plastic cover , I found a second hand plate ,Touratech I think to mount to so it could be removed , but that was my choice rather than permanent .
