Akrapovic RACING EXHAUST SYSTEM

Just wondered if anybody has any views on this Akrapovic double exhaust system. It looks seriously sexy. Also wondered if anyone has any views in relation to the chrome on the stock exhaust pipes. I must admit that I am a bit cheesed off at the amount of pitting in the chrome on my 2007 GSA despite my best efforts at winter protection and serious rubbing and polishing. Other than that have not had a minutes trouble - driving every day and 30,000 kilometres at this stage.

Really like the look of these exhausts though!

I have them fitted, the "Not for Road use" stamp can be rubbed out with careful use of a dremel. Much lighter than original set, then again if I stopped eating chips I would have loose that weight and safe loads of money.

I had it fitted to my 06 GSA and when I sold it I refitted the orig system and I noticed the drop in power around the 4500ish mark. I have it fitted to my 08GSA now. Replace the exhaust header gaskets when fitting, only a few €.
I love the looks and the sound, order loads of ear plugs though, and give some to the poor rider who is behind you.

Initially I fitted the system with a k&n but had to remove k&n as it burnt too lean. I believe the system can be fitted without any adjustment.

As much as pose as anything. The midrange go of the bike is healthier too.

I put in some baffles at the ends to make them a little less anti-social.

I use mine year-round, in all weathers, and was wondering as to the general fit 'n finish of the Akropovic system - the durability of the finish in particular??
