Akro exhaust

Nutty - Done same thing.

I ordered my Thunder Grey TE from the same dealer with deposit paid start of November.

Expecting delivery next week?

Had my demo Tuesday and decided Akro was must have to retain the character of my TC. The LC is just too damn quiet!

Unfortunately - I'm taking a bit of a chance as I haven't heard the Akro in the raw as the dealer didn't have one fitted to a bike I could listen to.

Blind faith?

I pick mine up tomorrow morning.:thumb The Akro will sound a lot fruitier, and give a bit more oomph (not sure how much, but I reckon another 100bhp:D). I'll probably take the baffles out as well, if they are removable.:thumb:beerjug:

The Akro will go on at the first service, as they aren't in stock at the moment:blast

The fella's that have ordered the akro did you get any discount on the exhaust, reason i ask ive got discount on the crash bars but also like the akro so will ask what thy can do on the can.

Thx .

Nope, no discount.:blast But I may have got a discount on other stuff:augie

Let me know if you're pleased with the sound. You will probably will also notice the massive 1.5kg reduction in weight,

Be great if they took the original in part ex but they don't so will sit in garage next to the original S1000RR one.

Any offers?

Just noticed this on Nippy Normans

"LIMITED PERIOD OFFER
STOCK ARRIVING AT THE END OF MAY - RESERVE YOURS NOW
Good saving over BMW dealer price which currently is £850 !
Slip on replacement for the OE silencer. Works with the original collector or the new Akrapovic collectors.
Titanium sleeve AND internals - made completely from Titanium for weight saving.
With carbon end cap and sporty twin outlets !
Good power increase. Standard Akrapovic badge
.
Performance
When fitted with the Akrapovic conical collectors the power increase is 8bhp (baffle out) and 6.5bhp with baffle in.

This figure is peak power, but does not explain the surge in mid-range power gained. There is a MASSIVE increase in torque between 3,500 and 5,500 rpm.
No other modifications to the carburration are necessary when fitting this silencer.
IMPORTANT NOTE
The only difference is the price and the badge between the 'real' Akrapovic products sold by us and the ones sold in BMW dealers.
All Akrapovics are E marked and feature removable baffles for a fruitier note.
Fits:

R1200GS LC 2013 onwards
THIS PRODUCT IS ONLY FOR SALE TO THE UK, IRELAND AND CHANNEL ISLANDS."

So are the Akros supplied by BMW not "real" then:nenau Seems like an odd statement. The power gains look good though.:beerjug::D

I also wanted the Akro until i saw a pic of it fitted on the bike, tbh it looks longer when fitted so prefer the stock.

Got to fit the extra horses in somewhere:rolleyes::D

Mate you need to get rid of that gay plastic rear mudguard thingie :barf

Power gains only with Akro collectors. Slip on by itself is negligible.

This may suggest that BMW will not be able to deliver their badged Akro until end of May as well???

I always thought that aftermarket silencers were meant to be smaller, neater, better looking than the standard offering.
New one looks like its off a lorry.

Edit: At least its got rid of the scaffolding bracket

Care to give us the pronunciation as well......? :D

AKRAPOVIC pronounced "A KRAP OF ITCH" (say it fast) I only know this as my GF is from Slovenia, and her great uncle "Igor" started the company:thumb2

Thanks:thumb Where's he based, as I'm down south, and a mate works for a body shop says they can do it:beerjug: I'm thinking a carbon wrap on those panels, along with the dark screen (that still hasn't come into stock:blast) should look :drool

Nutty, try Boss Dog in Dorking....do all our race cars and do wrapping of the general public....very good service.....would probably fit in on a Saturday morning.

Cheers

Thanks for that, I'll give them a call:thumb

Btw the scaffolding in the second pic is actually the rear footrest hanger which is removable on the LC - a nice idea if you don't carry a passenger
