Travelling down to Shipley tomorrow as I've got the bike in for it's service at Alan Jeffries and I'm test riding the new Adventure while it's getting done. Does anyone have a good local varied route I could check it out on. Preferably avoiding built up areas, with some good scenery and lasting 2 to 3 hours. A bikers cafe or decent pub in the back of beyond somewhere would be ideal. Much appreciated, Mark

This route might help, as I had a similar situation and had the adv whilst mine was in for service recently. I went out towards Skipton, through to Kettlewell, Buckden, over Fleet Moss and into Hawes. Although there is a bikers cafe in Hawes, I chose to continue over Buttertubs Pass and into Thwaite. There is a lovely smart cafe in Thwaite. Otherwise, I continued on through Muker and into Reeth for lunch there. From there, on to Middleham (general direction of Leyburn), and over Coverdale, into Kettlewell. Back road to Bolton Abbey .... Addingham and to Shipley. Try that,

How about starting with this and adapting to suit? https://goo.gl/maps/iH9L8

Bit longer than you asked for, but you could cut it short or modify it. I'd check, however, that the cafe is still open at this time of year

Right out of Jefferies go to Ilkley then head for Skipton. Join A59 at Skipton and go left at the roundabout the 3rd right at the next roundabout for Grassington then follow the B6160 through Kettlewell and Starbotton to Buckden then turn left just after the Buck Inn for Hubberholme and keep on that road until you go through Gayle to Hawes. The Wensleydale Cheese factory is on your right just as you enter Hawes where you'll get a great brew and cake plus cheeses to taste and buy in the shop. After there turn right out of the carpark and then left and left again and head towards Ingleton. when you see the Ribblehead railway viaduct you can either go straight on to Ingleton and then Left onto the A65 towards Skipton and eventually Bradford/Shipley or Ilkley. Or you can turn left just before the viaduct and join the A65 at Settle then also turn let towards Skipton etc...

First part of this is pretty much the same as I've posted earlier ...

Something like this for a nice combination of roads :thumby:

That's great fellas.I'm pretty familiar with all those routes except the road Sven suggests from Horton to Settle then onto Hetton so will try that. I'll probably come down through Leyburn, Masham, summerbridge etc and back a similar way. Is there nothing worth riding in the forest area between Skipton and Garstang, Forest of Bowland just going off the map?

Forest of Bowland, some great riding 'or' if your coming thro Leyburn why not try the the road that leads to Kettlewell.
Out of Leyburn on the A684, just over the river take the first left (I think) onto Gale Bank and on towards Carlton, Gammersgill, Horseshoe onto Cam Gill Road, which leads to Kettlewell, thro some absolutely beautiful scenery. If you've not done this road before, treat yourself BUT take care, it can be tricky in places.

Cheers Jacal. Been through Kettlewell up to Hawes a few times. Fantastic route. Will do it again along similar path that Sven suggests, if I have enough time. Thanks all for your suggestions :beerjug:
