Is the alarm fob on the factory fitted alarm waterproof or not? does anyone know

Not usually

After having to leave someone at a cafe in pi**ing rain 'cos he had his on ignition key I always keep mine separate and safe.

(He caught us up at next stop after leaving it on top of the oven in cafe for 10 mins.)

Sherpa ;)

Programme the alarm so that it self activates. It then deactivates with the ignition key.

No need for any dodgy sender :bounce1

I did this with my alarm, but there is no way you can tell the alarm off for a temporary period while you move the bike arround because after turning off with the fob it re-arms after a short period of time (15secs maybe).

Am I being a bit dim to suggest you just put the key in the ignition whilst you turn the bike round?

Haven't used the sender since I first had the bike- and never needed to, The sender is just asking for trouble.
Agree that you need to disarm the alarm to move it, wash it etc etc. but as previously said- just use the key.

Did a 300 mile ride in 32 deg two weeks ago and encountered a flash thunderstorm flood- it was so refreshingly heavy and welcome :bow . When I got home my mobile phone- which was in my pocket, had drowned. :(

Good job I was not away from home with that sender thing in my pocket.
