At the risk of even more ridicule, has anyone changed the batteries in the alarm module under the pillion seat? If so, why doesn't the bloody thing work again? I have got rid of the warning symbol on the consul readout, new batteries in the fobs and still no alarm!

Am I missing some trickery here that will revitalize the offending article, any sensible answers would be very welcome.

Is it the BMW fitted alarm ?
Does it not arm with the button on the fob,
There are a number of different ways to set the alarm to arm,
I have set mine to the setting where it will only arm if I do it myself, I got fed up with it self arming and going off whenever I wanted to move my bike,
Have you got the alarm manual that BMW supplied it might have some info in there,
Why did you need to change the batteries, I'm assuming it was not working before so it may well not be a fault with the batteries.

I had a battery symbol come up on the display with DWA next to it, have looked on You Tube and the cure was to change batteries, but why the fob does not activate is beyond me, I have 2 X 1200GS's at present both the same year and identical but one alsrm works, the other doesn't!

Sussed it, found a page that explains how to reset alarm on a website somewhere?????? Motorcycle Info Pages. Basically you start with
the machine switched off,
Turn on Ign & Press button one 3 times, 1 x acoustic acknowledgement,
Turn Ign off within 10 seconds.
Push button 2 , 3 times, 1 acoustic acknowledgement.
Switch ign on, 3 acoustic acknowledgements.
Best way I can describe it. Hope this helps anyone else who changes the batteries on the alarm unit under the rear pillion seat housing.
