Alarm

Is this worth specifying
I've heard stories that it can drain the battery and I don't fancy bump starting a gs

Use an optimate and anyhow

"NOTE
In order to protect the motorcycles' battery and ensure that the engine can be started, the alarm system deactivates itself automatically a certain number of days after beihg activated, although it always remains active for at least 7 days"

I paid the extra on my last bike a KS but did not use it much. When I bought the GSA I did not bother with one. I guess it depends how you use the bike left all day in funerable spot it may be worth while.

I always use the alarm on past and present bikes. I have this one so it is set automatic. I also use a chain and bike cover. I know if someone wants it bad enough they can get it. But it is a deterant for the casual bike thief.

Havn't had any issues with battery drainage since the oddysee battery was installed. The stock battery would drain regardless if an alarm was on or not.

Datatool 3....goes into 'standby' after 3-4 days and has only a tiny weeny drain on the battery from that point onwards.....and nearly all alarm problems are down to the quality of the installation, not the alarm itself.

Standard BMW alarm is configured to "sleep" if battery starts to get low, but still functions as an immobiliser.

Good piece of kit.

2004. 43,000 mile testimony....Live within striking distance of "Drugs capital of UK" - Bike kept in alarmed garage, locked to ground anchor, with OEM alarm on 24/7.
