Hi All,

Thinking of getting my bike treated with ACF50 by All Year Biker. Has anyone had this done? I just watched a YouTube video of the application process and not sure about close-quarter use of the jet washer and (possibly) grit-laden brush. Yes, I'm fussy :blast I suppose I could do it myself, but for the price of it the bike'd get a thorough clean too and I've read that applying too much ACF50 can lead to a bigger build up of shite.

Any insights welcome, thanks!

Yeah, had it done to a couple of bikes but not for a few years now. I wouldn't worry, they know what they're doing. The key thing is getting it immaculately clean and degreased before applying the ACF50, which they apply as a mist. Only a very very thin layer is required, less than you're likely to get by applying it yourself even with a spray/mister bottle. However, it is crazy expensive IMO but as a yearly treatment I suppose it's not too bad. I think the question is can you afford it? If not get a few of your bike mates in and get a discount.

I do it myself. Warm up the ACF50 in boiling water and then apply it using an old paint spray gun with my compressor. Mrs TC gave me some old sheets which I've cut into the right shape to go over tyres and discs so they don't get contaminated.

3 of us had our bikes done recently by the guy from Aberdeen. He did a superb job on all the bikes and left them looking like new (well, apart from the corrosion that is now visible, but that is a different issue). For the price, I would have no hesitation getting it done by him again.

Twice a year for me.
November by the local all year guy, for £70 it gets a showroom level clean and treatment then I give it a good wash and re apply myself using a paint gun around April/May once the salt is off the road.
My Triumph after 3 winters was great, only got the Gs in March this year so it's a bit early to tell.

I got the local guy to do mine when I bought it. Fantastic attention to detail and careful use of the pressure washer. He used a small tube to apply the misted ACF50 in EVERY nook and cranny. If your steed needs a thorough wash after winter or pre-winter protection I reckon it's £70 well spent. Hopefully time will prove me right.
