I've been offered a set of 3 spoke alloys off a K1100LT which has been converted into a sidecar outfit. The forks & wheels are now surplus to requirements and come with relatively little used tyres & fittings.

My question is: Will these fit the GS? I appreciate that they will not accept the speedo drive w/o modification, but will they fit.

I know some of you have both bikes so can you help, please.

Cheers,

Paul,

I think the rear K series wheels have a different disk arrangement to the GS. Instead of the disk bolting to the rear wheel it is attached to the bevel drive box, via the two threaded holes in the centre boss, the disk also has the ABS ring on it with the ABS sensor mounted to the rear brake caliper. The calipers themselves are opposed piston calipers instead of the side by side pistons on the GS...and it just so happens that I have all the bits needed; Disk, Caliper, ABS sensor, wheel bolts etc :thumb I geeve you special price meester.

All sorts will fit...........

Paul,

I have a set of K1200RS wheels on my 1150 as can be seen on my site.

Take a look at this link...........http://www.boxer-design.de/en/makeover/index.htm

You will see on the bottom row in the middle a GS with three spoke wheels.

The easiest to fit are off the 1150RT/R, they go straight in.

If you want more info, try "Nord" at Motorworks........he's clued up on the bit you'll need. ;)

Next time I'm down at my Parents place in Fulwood on the Bike, I'll give you a shout so you can see my conversion if you like, could be some time though.

Hi CC

Spotted the wheels you mentioned and Jim Bryan has similar on his 1100GS, but I think that these would have been off an 1100R from days gone by. I think Rob is right in that the disc & ABS fittings are different enough to make it unsuitable to try & fit them when others are much easier to use.

Thanks for the input & give us a shout when you're in the area. I'm only in Penwortham, over t'river.
