Altberg boots

I have a pair of Daytona which are nearing the end of their life and having heard good things about Altberg I thought I'd give them a try..
Went to the factory about 5 weeks ago to get measured up for a pair of Hoggs.
Got a call Friday to say they were ready so went up(400 mile round trip) yesterday 19th aug to get them.(they close for a fortnight so this was the last day open) When I got measured they told me that they would need to adjust them to fit when I got to the shop so I set off around 5.00a.m. to get there around 9.00a.m.

Both boots needed stretching which takes about an hour, but when they came back they fit perfectly...
Got a spare pair of laces and some polish thrown in.

I mentioned to the guy at the factory that I had been wearing magnums and he told me off for swearing!

I have a pair of clubman bike boots, and also field boots and both have been fantastic.

Had mine for over 12yrs now done over 70,000 miles on a bike and a few hundred walking. Clean them regularly and still look good

I have 2 pairs of Altberg boots ... the oldest is about 10 yrs old now and had them "refurbished" 3 years ago .. new soles, velcro, liners and toe pads ... a 4 week turnaround and about £60 then ... brilliant service and brilliant boots .. I would and probably never will have to buy anything else.

In theory, you are right. BUT, if you send your boots in for a re-sole, they will do a damn site more than just slap a new sole on 'em....
