Alternative alternator belt

If you are stuck for an alternator belt and your local motor factors insists on knowing the vehicle make and model before they will look for parts, it looks like the power steering belt from some Hyundai cars will fit (4PK611 is the original BMW fitment this one is 1mm shorter)

There are several lists already posted of all the alternative belts available in the 1100/1150 section. Yours can be added to it.

Plus the 2003 onwards GS takes a 592 belt, also available from your local car spares shop. Funnily enough as a 592 four rib belt.

And the 1200 uses a combination of 592 and 582 (both four rib) depending on year.

Yep I spotted your post (sorry should have credited you with the info), but when I rang the motor factors (in fact several) for a 4 rib 611mm belt . I got the answer "if you can't give us a vehicle reg or make , model and year we can't help"

Euro car parts were the ones that came up with this information
