Alternative System Panniers for 1150GS

I posted this under the Equipment & Toys with only one response (possibly wrong section) so I thought I'd try to see if I get any joy here (perhaps there is just no answer).

I know someone out there must know which panniers from other BMs will fit the 1150GS once the exhaust has been lowered so that I can have a bigger pannier on the exhaust side.

Well when I say bigger I mean bigger than the proper 1150 one with a city lid that I have now - miniscule - so hopefully a bit bigger with a city lid (the city lid must be fitted otherwise the pannier won't fit )

I believe it is the RT pannier which fits, which is the same size as the ordinary right-hand side pannier.

Anyway, I thought you already had a large left-hand side pannier. In fact, I understand it's so large that it requires an extra wheel to be fitted ...

Why don't you get a trailer?

Have one, nice little one too. Legal for solo use and turns into a double trailer tent. Nearly took it to Princetown last year - lucky I didn't, might have had too much fun trying to get it onto the campsite . Thank goodness for last minute cancellations and deciding to go B&B before leaving home.

Anyway, that's what usually goes with us, but we're not going to pull that round the Baltic

Ref the RT, no the the pannier does not fit as I have some of those (alledgedly) and the stabilising slotty bit is in the wrong place.

As I've had only a small response, I presume there is no answer.

Oh well, on to plan "B" - keep what I've got and have a clearance in the New Year (system panniers{11** S/RT}, Givi panniers + top box with backrest and rear rack/holder, maybe even some little worn leather salopettes and jacket).

I understand that you can buy a modified left rear footrest hanger which allows you to use the left hand RT system case.

I seem to remember that it was part of the exhaust lowering kit available from B*W.

Have a chat with Motorworks, the exhaust lowering kit comes from them and the pannier which is the RS type is also available from them.
