I've just fitted a Touratech luggage rack on my trusty old 1100 and although the left rack and case is well clear of the standard indicator the right isn't. I've acquired a set of 35/41 litre cases and a rack from different sources so I now need to decide what to do about the indicators.

What alternatives are there ? Obviously TT blinkers are premium price so anyone have any other suggestions ? Wot about moving the stock ones ? Has anyone done that instead ?

Answers as soon as possible please - I need to get this sorted before the hog roast so I only really have this weekend to get it all arranged. Oh yeah I have Malkies wide tails fitted in the stock ones with clear lenses which I wouldn't mind repeating if possible...
Ta very much

My 35/41 frames came with brackets to move the indicators out and rearwards so I am able to use the OE ones. Which you should be able to make out in this picture...

Cheers Yer honour. That's just the sort of thing I was thinking. Any chance of a close up of just how the bracket is fitted and what it looks like ?
I guess it is something I should be able to knock together with some odd bits of meccano . ;)

Me....buy American ? .......what planet have you been hiding on ? :D

Hey Gecko,

I replaced my STD ones with the £14 jobbies from infinity motorcycles. They work fine and certified for eu usage. No need for fuses and all those other mini indicator bollock mods. They fitted straight on with a small wire connector mod I did.

Here is a pic, if you want some can send a pair with somebody to the hog roast with your disc :)

Cheers

Edit: Just read the whole lot again, alternative why did you not say so! I should have those touratech brackets which I did not use on mine floating about. Will check tonight

£ 7 a pair !!! :yikes - good god man do you think I am made of money....

Really - only £7 ? I must have misread the price in the catalogue - I thought they were a lot more. I'll check tonight. Cheers

Well this could be intresting for you. Just remove the stalks on the stock indicators and replace them a SS - fastener. I don't remember if it was 10 or 12 mm.
Yes, you need to drill a hole in it for the cabels too.

Cheap enough for you?

I was looking at this idea but I couldn't figure out how to fix them. The stock blinker stalk has a metal tube running through it so how do you get it to stay in place ?
Thanks

Just remove the metal tub so you just have the plastic housing. Put the bult with the head inside the housing and use the metal clamp inside the housing to fix it.

Thanks Moose - I'll investigate this - it seems too simple to be true....:thumb

hello gecko.still using that manual:D
on the stock indicators the metal tube is not one piece running through.
it is part tube and then a threaded bolt.
