I have a Scott Ergo Jacket. Outstanding breathable waterproof jacket
I noticed the cap chap said Scott were stopping production, so he bought a load in

Seems Merlin are filling that gap

If what he says is true, Merlin are having these produced at the same factory as the Scotts but to Merlins design

Looked at them the other day. Look and feel exactly the same. Shop had just got them and not on display so didn't know how much.
I have a bit of Merlin gear and think it's good quality.

Interesting! I wonder why Scott stopped production.

I am not sure the velcro on the liver legs was/ is a good idea to choose, I can see many a frustration when you are caught out in the rain, trying to put the troops on swiftly, but the velcro sticks back together just as you are hopping on one leg beside your bike on the grass/gravel verge…
I think sticking with a zipper and adding a form of elasticated synch straps as a way to tighten everything up.

Vent on the back of the jacket is a nice addition, more colours including a must have yellow is indeed needed. I am happy with black bottoms, but not with a black jacket, due to lack of visibility when seriously tuning and spray being kicked up.

Just my two pence worth.

Sometimes mistypes are better than the correct words…

I really should take my time to read back the gibberish that I post. 🤣

Typing it out on a small (ish) screen, is a pain. That’s my excuse. 😜

Does anyone know if they have adjusted the fitment for leg length on the trousers? Motolegends were selling the women's trousers as "long" leg for the men.

Ask an Urban Rider a question via their YouTube Video comments. When you do get the answer, then please inform the gang with your findings.

Thanks

Scott pulled out of the motorcycle market completely to focus on cycling/ski - they only really made one product which sold in good numbers to be honest and it was the Ergo Pro jacket and trousers.

We've just took the Merlin Hydroshield on too, great piece of kit

Any reason why jacket is £10 more expensive compared to Scott’s offering?
Considering the only difference is the exhaust vent across the back and that “Any customer can have a car painted it in any colour that he wants, so long as it's black” - Henry Ford

Good question, no idea - Merlin make the retail prices for products not retailers. If I had to take a guess, I'd assume Merlin have had them made in smaller quantities so a bit more expensive to product for that reason, other than that no clue!

If motocentral still do their 10% off.....boom!
