Recently replaced the rear sensor. Hoped it might wake itself up if I put some miles on the clock but after about 300 miles involving multiple journeys it still isn't recognised.

I've got an OBD MX+ and the wakeup tool but no Motoscan app or GS911. Are there any other apps (preferably iPhone) thaty will achieve the same thing?

Only the BMW coding software but you need a laptop and connection cable.

A 911 does it. It's all I've used.

If the sensor is good, I would have expected the bike to pick it up within a mile or two.
I recently put a new back wheel ic, with a Schrader 3141m, and the bike picked it up within a mile or so.

Previously I used a wake-up tool and a 911 but so long as only one wheel altered it should pick up

Just adding..... Shame you're so far away, just bought a posh Autel TPMS tool to read and program sensors on my Grenadier

Have you tried shouting at it?

Threatening to rip its innards out and burning , pitchforks and oil etc

Nothing to loose ;)

I have Motoscan and that's what I (succesfully) used to install new sensors on my back and code them in. My bike previously didn't have TPMS.

Motoscan is the cheaper option of the lot. It's not great (hence cheaper) but works.

From experience it seems likely the new sensor may be duff. Can you be sure it is actually "waking-up"?
Is it a genuine Schrader 3141m (same as OEM) or a BMW parts item?

I think Andyb did not pair the new sensor with the bike.

I can’t be 100% sure it’s not faulty but it is the old banana-style Schrader unit, not the newer one you refer to.

They are interchangeable, they both use the same frequency. I had the ones you have in my GS, but swapped for the 3141. .
If only you were nearby, I just bought a Autel reader to wake up and read the sensor. .

Car rather than bike but when I sourced spare rims and TPMS units for use with winter tyres a couple of years back, I popped to my local tyre shop with the sensors and they used their tool to "wake up" each sensor to make sure they were all working pre-install. Think I might have taken the sensor ID's as a backup-can't remember now- just in case they needed to be coded but ultimately was a case of simply driving for 8 or 10 minutes at which point the car picked up the new sensors and logged them without outside intervention. Appreciate BMW may have a different permissions protocol for registering new/replacement sensors.

Certainly sounds like first port of call is simply confirming new sensor actually has life in it.

I contacted OBD Fusion just to double-check but they say it won't recalibrate TPMS's.

Do people know otherwise?

My money is on the sensor.
I have fitted different F&R wheels, one at a time, both brand new sensors, and they were picked up within a mile or so.
Any chance you could borrow an existing rear wheel from a mate that you know works? (the sensor, nto the mate!)
