Alternator squeel

Morning all,
RT had a squeely alternator in 1st gear when accelerating through 2-4k rpm. I didn't have time to check for a couple of weeks.

Last Sunday I too half of the bike apart to get to the alternator cover - every simple job on a GS is a long job on an RT. Bloody fairing Grrrrr.

As suspected the alternator belt was a little worn. There is a picture of the new and old belts below. Not sure when it was last changed. I got the bike last July with 37k on the clock. It's now got 50k. I don't think it would have gone many more miles on the old belt

Put it the old one on ebay - some idiot will buy it
