hi guys,
i was offered a set of 17" alu rims. front is from an RT an the rear one from 12 s. sounds good so far. rear rim is from a sports model, tyre for it is a 180/55-17!! has any of you fitted such a tyre on the rear of your 1150 gs's? will that badly affect the handling or will the handling improve?

I had for a while similars rims on My eleven GS. No problems besides getting used to a rather quick steering with a small fromt wheel and wider bars.
Also best way of reducing high. Check that the wide rear rim will fit and not rub against the shaft case!!
 
You're also going to find a problem mounting the rear brake disc as the K1200RS has this mounted on a carrier which bolts to the final drive. You'll be better getting a rear wheel from an R1100S or R1150RS/RT/R.

Funnily enough, I've been looking for a K1200RS 5.5" rear wheel, so if you want to offload it, please get in touch.... :rolleyes: I'm away on Saturday for a fortnight, though.
