aluminium pannier lids

This GS thing is catching. Just talked a mate into a gsa.
The one he is looking at has bmw alu panniers. The only thing stopping the deal is the fact that the pannier lids are quite scratched. Can the lids be replaced and if so how much. Or can they be polished outr (Scratches)
He has asked the dealer to replace them but it may be a deal breaker

Yes you can buy lids. I have a 1200GSA and just ordered a replacement lid for the left hand pannier from my dealer here in Dublin - €130 - I know, savage money.

Scratches should cost extra. Its a sign of a bike being used properly. If you'r not scratching your bike your not riding hard enough and should trade your bike for a zimmerframe.
