Well stayed on the West coast for many years and never made the trip down to Ardnamurchan, well today i corrected this. Weather was good and am over in the Fort so decided to take a run out to Lochailort and then down to Ardnamurchan Lighthouse the single track isnt the best in places but its fun. However the road from Strontian to Ardgour is amazing what a road its not a road its a racetrack. Give it a try..:thumb2:thumb2:thumb2

Aye I am sure the Strontian road had a new surface done a couple of years ago.
Was ace, your posting reminds me to go do that section again.

Just looking at the map, 42 mins to Lochailort, bet you done it in about 30?:green gri

I've got a trip to an address at Kilchoan (just a mile or so from Ardnamurchan Lighthouse) coming up within the next few weeks, and I'm really looking forward to seeing a part of the country I see all too rarely.

Unfortunately, it's on four wheels because I'm delivering something, but beggars can't be choosers...

10 Days around Scotland

We (the wife and myself) did that very same loop on the 7th our first day of 10 in Scotland first time up there with the bike, most of the route was very slow progress with meeting on coming vehicles and a long section of roadwork’s on a section of single track road but the Light house and the views are worth the effort.

We stopped for 6 nights in a lovely sheppard’s cottage (to be recommended for its idyllic setting and comfortable accommodation) at the foot of the Ben Nevis 50 mtr from The Ben Nevis Inn (to be recommended great food beer live music and atmosphere) a couple of miles outside of Fort William. Did 5 days touring around the area, including a great day through the pass of Glen Coe over the spectacular Rannoch moor down to Tyndrum for a stop off then the A85 to Oban then north on the A828 to stop for lunch at a favorite of ours www.pierhousehotel.co.uk at Port Appin don’t miss this if you ever pass this way, then back to F.W
We headed off on the Saturday up to Ullapool for an over night stop via Applecross which was another great days ride, followed by 3 further days right up the west coast across the north coast and down the east coast , taking in
