hi all,
had a few high speed wobbles from the front yesterday and just wondering if its a tyre issue or not, speed was 200kmh,( 125 mph) tyres at correct pressure, tyre has about 7000 miles on it. at 180 (112)its fine but at 200 or above i start to get a low freq wobble.

could it be anything related to suspension?

You checked the front spindle is done up properly?

I did 127mph (Garmin GPS max speed) on the b/stones at had no problem.

I have recently fitted fitted anakee 2's to mine (around 500 miles ago) and only this week did similar speeds to you (trackday ;) ) and found them very stable.

Apart from wear which will effect the handling, have any of the balancing weights come off at all?

Too much in topbox can do it? Bit more preload on back can also help.

ah! that might be it, the box was full. rear is on about 75% preload, front no idea.

have checked everything else and all is tight inc the fork clamps - they have not moved since i had the bike.

Last time I had a feeling like that I was on a Yamaha FJR1300. Turned out to be the Ultraseal I had in the front tyre. I've got Ultraseal in both tyres on my GS and never noticed a problem at all.
