OK

BMW gave me my registration number. I can now get quotes.
So, I phone my current insurance. Express Motorcycle insurance. R1200GSA £98 per year. Ends in Oct. They cant quote, claiming Ageas Wont quote due to it being over 20K. Cancel the policy, they refund me £44.
Bikesure. They quote £762. I say No. They then quote £650, with a supplied Tracker, with its own power supply and no annual contracts. WHich now sounds a bit better, BUT Whilst Im talking, I run my Compare the meerkat ...... Bennetts - £250.
Job done.

dunno how you've done that but well done. My R1300GS is £500 this year with a few mods, 4k miles p.a. with commuting, in the ghetto (West Yorkshire)

I used Compare the market. All my info was there.
I've added a screen shot. One thing to note.
After I chose that quote. I went to the broker, Bennetts. I couldn't complete it, as it wouldn't recognise the registration. So, with the quote number I called them. She basically told me that the bike wasn't actually register yet, but that didn't matter, as she changed the number plate to "Private" . She then continued to quote and I paid.
Bike valued at what I paid. Im 55, No claims. Clean Licence. Licence held since 1987. Garaged. Own my own business. Chelmsford.

who's the underwriter as this might help others rejected by Ageas on bike value?

Nice one. I'm with Bennetts but when I told them about the Tracker they said it wouldn't make any difference to the renewal price🤔

The Tracker offered to me, reduced the cost by £100. They supplied it. It was a self fitted, sticky pad, With its own battery. Never heard of that before, Called a Nano tracker ?
Its all a load of old B*******s

Mine is a Datatool, so not exactly a uncommon brand🤔

A very useful tip for anyone looking for a bike/car quote.
1/ Switch browsing to Private,
2/ Request quotes as early as possible prior to your proposed commencement of the policy.
3/ Request quotes during normal working hours, not late evening or in the wee small hours of the morning.

The reason you should switch browsing to Private is so that if you request multiple quotes via a broker or Go Compare etc, perhaps changing the excess or your annual mileage to see what works out best for you none of your data is collected and therefore each quote is as if it was the first.
Also the earlier you seek a quote and pay for it the less a risk taker you are considered to be. Leave everything until a day or two before you wish to start the policy and you’re deemed to be disorganised and a chancer.
Finally if you’re seeking quotes at 3am as opposed to 10am you’re considered to be a higher risk due to you most likely having employment with unsociable hours.

How much truth there is in this you can decide for yourself but I was recently told this by someone who works in the insurance industry. Coincidentally I recently used this system two weeks ago to renew my van insurance which is due at the end of this month, strangely I got a very favourable quote which was significantly better than this time last year when I didn’t do any of the above. Could be a load of bollocks or I could have just unlocked the Holy Grail! 😂

My quotes were around 1100 AM. I had to wait 14 days before the 1st March as that's the way the Registration works on new bikes. I didn't switch to private Browsing though, a good point for next time. :thumb The first two quotes, the expensive ones were by phone, It was the Compare site online that saved the money !
