Andalucia, Spain. Guide/Accomodation

Hi GS 'ers,

I live in the Alpujarra mountains between Granada and the coast and am interested to know if anyone on this forum would be interested in self catering accomodation and/or a guide of this fantastic biking area.
I can arrange accomodation at a range of venues from solar powered alternative houses to luxury hotels. Individual travellers or large groups, no problem.
The region has a range of routes to suit everyone.High altitude tracks and winding tarmac. Breath taking views and generally good riding weather all year.
Granada is an hour away with the Alhambra. While the cities of Cordoba, Sevilla and Malaga are not much further.
Its also a convenient stop off if your heading to North Africa from either Almeria or Gibraltar.

My mother lives in Almeria. It is indeed a fantastic, beautiful, historical and relaxing area of the world.

Good luck with ya venture, I'm sure anyone who visits the area will come away happy.

Not too far from the Rhinda valley either which is a superb piece of tarmac, although there are plenty of others in the region.

There's alot of off roading to be explored too, along with cheap beer, good food and lovely weather.

Fook, why am I still here :D:D:D
 
Hi Neil, where abouts in the alpujarra are you?

We've got a house in Capileira in the poquera valley. Lovely area, great roads and fantastic scenary, local drivers are shit though!!!:(

When in March are you going to Benalmadena Darren as I`m heading down there on the 25th March to 4th April (SWMBO is flying down) so could possibly meet up for a ride-out if you manage to get a bike rented.

Neil, could you recommend a possible route down to Benalmadena, I`m coming from the Bilbao area............:thumb
 
What sort of average temperatures can you expect in Spain during the last 2 weeks of Sept??? My mates want to go but I recon it will be too cold:comfort Any ideas?

sorry I am there from the 7th the road from Marbella to Ronda is a must done it twice in a rental car swore Id do it on a bike this time

My better half and I were there last September, from the 14th to the 28th. Temperatures varied between 11 C in the Pyrenees, up to 30 C in Almeria, and yes, before Wapping ask's, we used map's to find our way around !

Heading out to Malaga tomorrow we have 4 GS Adventures rented from GS heaven a guy called Carlos runs it and has been very helpfull so far, I will let you know how we got on when we get back on Thursday. On the same issue other than the Ronda to the coast road which I have ridden before and it is brillliant where else is a must in the area between Malaga Seville and Granada.

Have hired a bike from Carlos and stayed at their villa, nice guys and a great place to stay.

Going again in May.

The A366 between Ronda and El Burgo.
Hi all. Thought I'd post this I took of me a few years back on my Africa twin. It was fully luggaged, including spare tyre, tankbag and full Zega kit and running TKC knobblies so pretty heavy going. Pretty hilly road with plenty of curves and ended up getting stuck behind a chap giving it some wellie in his little hatchback. Beautiful roads and as you can see the pocket rockets love it.(wobbled when I spotted incoming)


God! I wish I was doing that right now. What a beautiful place.
