Andermatt or Interlaken ?

i go boarding at andermatt every now and then and the town is in a valley and the wind funnels thru the valley so it does get windy.... there are facilities in the cable car centre but TBH they are fairly basic (toilet/sinks) .
ill put it this way i would rather spend the extra cash and find a nice campsite near interlaken (even if it is touristy) and have good facilities and be close to a some entertainment.

you should be alright for june for most of the passes - we had a mild winter with a late burst of snow end of march, start of april. if u want ill keep an eye on things and let you know as ill prob be down that way sometime before u and will take note of the pass info.

remind me closer to the time tho!!!!

i was in the area yesterday - the furka and simplon passes still have a lot of snow on them, we have had crap weather the last 10 days so its not helping the snow melt.......

The snow has got just over a week to start melting or we might have to redirect to the south of France

Is there any sign of a heat wave out there ?

last few days have not been too bad, there are a lot of passes open but i guess not the main ones you wanted to do..... at the moment the temp is low 20's wont do much in the mountains tho.

A big thank you to every one that has got back to us on this one we are all booked on the ferry for this Friday (6th June) From Portsmouth to la Havre so 2 days to get down there then we will see how we get on and what the weather is like then its back to La Havre on Sunday 16th for the boat home

Bob

hi Bob, looks like sunday will be dry at least, weather next week is questionable - pack ur waterproofs just in case......

oh temperature in andermatt right now is 9c so its not warm but last week we had 28C so fingers crossed the sun returns...

I got back last night we had a great time camped in Brienz for a few days and had a ride round lots of the pass roads round that area then we made our way over the 2 st Bernard passes to Bourg-Saint-Maurice then up to Evian for a few days then made our way back to the ferry via Gien 2300 miles in all and the lads on the sports bikes got down to the wear bars on the sides of there tyres but the centre bit was still OK
As for the weather well yes we had lots of it but if you didn’t like it you only had to ride into the next valley for something totally different
Once again thanks for all the advice and I will try and post some pictures at a later date

Bob

Hi
We stayed at Camping Seegartli and yes it was very nice the guy Martin that runs it was very helpful it is right on the side of the lake the site is right next to his house you are just camping in what at one time would have been his garden

You have to pay for the showers but its only 1 franc and everything is very clean and from the site it’s a 10 min walk into town to the shops and restaurants ect

As you come into Brienz from the east heading west there is a sign for camping right opposite a Garage and it’s down there von the right on the lake side next to the Hostel

I can’t remember how much it was but then nothing is cheap round there is it

cheers Bob, we ended up at a b&b just up the road from the campsite, its a nice location but it looked very cramped when we went past. i saw another campsite opposite that looked ok.. maybe for my next weekend trip..
