I just got the new Galaxy Note 2, having got sick of my iphone 4S.

When I try to view video on Telegraph & BBC news web sites, I am told to install the Flash Player. But Flash is not available for Android any longer, as it supports HTML5.

Now iPhone 4S supports HTML5 (and not Flash), same as Android.

Yet iPhone gets the video to work, but Android doesn't. Android version is the latest, Jelly Bean, 4.1.1.

Anyone any insight as to why HTML5 streaming from Telegraph / BBC works for iPhone and not Android?

(Both Telegraph & BBC have fek all support statements on their websites.)

make sure your asking for the mobile version of the site in the settings of the browser. If your set to always ask for the desktop version the site will try and get you to use the flash version. Post a link to an example if you like and I will try it on my phone.

Does jb not come with chrome as the default browser? If so installing flash won't help as chrome mobile doesn't support it so you would need to install another browser that did. Flash is crap anyway and the html5 should work.

I use firefox the original browser was very basic and shit plus if you install flash you can install Iplayer and itvplayer although googleplay says it wont work
