Annoying Vario topcase lid

Am I the only one? The lid of my Vario topcase won't stay open on its own. I find it very impractical and irritating to be left with only one hand to do all the little chores of filling or emptying the topcase, operating the volume lever, etc... I also notice that the plastic retainer cables on mine are bent, and seem destined to be bent, the way thay are designed. Does you topcase have the same issues, or is it only my model which is defective? If they're all the same, then I'd say it's a manufacturing defect from BMW.

You're lucky to have a Vario topcase... My dealer says he hasnt seen any yet...

Exactly the same on mine. However if I press on stays to unbend them the lid sort of stays up but a breath of wind will close it. Maybe a Touratech prop is needed.

Reduce the tyre pressure in the front .. increase the rear .. job done
