This morning on the way to work, clucth cable snapped on my 1100gs, luckily only 5 minutes from the Oxford BMW Garage, unluckily I had to push it over the hill (doesn't like hill starting with no clucth :-), pulled into the garage, unfortunatly they had no clutch cable in stock but could get one the next day, and they were fully booked with work that day, but offered to give me a lift to work so I could sort things out. but lone behold they did have one for another job, but wasn't due to be picked up for another week, so they sold me the cable (only £14 thought BM stuff was expensive) and let me fit it in their carpark, they even supplied me with grease and rags and coffee. 10 minutes later, new clutch cable fitted and on my way.

So for me a big thank you to those guys (I think they read this site occasionally) they might not have been able to sort and fix it there and then, but they did everything they could to help me do what ever I wanted. Cheers. :beerjug:

They really are a jolly good bunch up on the Wolvercote Roundabout.

I have been taking my GS there for a year now [just had its 3rd service with them] and they really are very helpful and accomodating. I travel 70 miles to them now, even though I have another Motorrad dealer 6 miles from me, they make me feel welcome and are always happy to help.

Could do with a couple of extra loan bikes though!

True about the loans bike, saying that at least you get comparable ones, my last garage used to loan me an old GS500, not that i'm complaining too much a bike is a bike, but I have only needed a loan bike once before from Oxford and they leant me a R1150R :-) had to go back to them from Summertown the long way round.

Try and get their secret loan bike - a rather tatty M reg 1100 GS. A real joy to ride - can't put my finger on it, it just has "something".
