Hi folks. New Here. First ride on a 1200GS (any BMW, in fact) was my test ride with Southport Superbikes on....Friday 13th June....when I had a front puncture after half an hour. Couldn't help but be impressed that the bike handled only marginally worse than an old XJ600 I used to own. Thanks, by the way, to the 2 guys who offered help if they visit here. Continued test ride p.m., picked up new bike last Thursday. It's booked in for first service next Friday and I head off to the French Alps a week later. Last bike was 955 Triple before that 750 V4 so am hoping this will do me for a while until someone introduces a 1500 single. :) Had a quick look around here and it has been v useful already. Cheers.

all be worth it..:D

Hi I am so bored waiting for my new gsa to arrive. After I did the off road skill's course with southport superbike in april I decided to trade up from my std 07 gs to the new gsa. I feel so lost without my bike :( i hope to take delivery in mid July.

Thanks for the welcome. Yes, I was well impressed with the atmosphere at Southport Superbikes as well as the approach when I actually picked up my bike: nothing was too much trouble. Had never really "got" the BMW thing in the past but it is slowly starting to make sense. I managed to get in 150 miles at the weekend. It would have been more but the wind was pretty awful and when a large part of a tree fell into the road (Nant Y Garth heading into Ruthin) seconds before I arrived, I decided to call it a day. Am working at home today but should manage a quick trip to the Ponderosa to get a few more miles on the clock.
