My red Gsa was tea leafed lasted night from the Q-park garage in Knightsbridge last night on Kinnerton street.
Reg GD65HVZ, its data tagged and was also locked with my chain(chain cut in half) and there is also CCTV, so waiting for that to come through.
It has a top box on it as well and a go-pro mount on the left hand side top engine bar and a scratch/gash on the left hand side of the beak.
Mileage was about 10500/10800.
Its a key less start model, shift pro and has the pannier racks on it!
I don't hold much hope in it being found, but you never know....

Regards M

Sorry to hear that, sounds like a professional job. Thought datatag was supposed to stop all this! Looks like you couldn't have done much more.

And what pray would you have the police do to stop the thieves, they can't even investigate the majority of more serious crimes involving real victims. On a daily basis cars are stolen without keys and are never recovered. These are like bike thefts impossible to prevent.

The vast majority of thefts in London (at least looking at 2014 stats) were not in car parks but ones out on the street. So it looks like you were unlucky. I bought a 2nd bike and don't go anywhere near central London on my GSA any more. Goodness knows what insurance is going to be like to renew with the number of thefts ;)
Did the OP have a tracker installed? What chain was it (not that it would ultimately have made a difference I suspect)?

Got big balls to raid a Q-park.
I'm sure we would all like an update please once the cctv has been viewed.

Were they on foot.?
Did they ride bike away.?

Any security at the exit?

Sorry to hear that, bet its on its way to some East European country as I type

It could have been an inside job.

I copied the following statement from Q-Park's website

"At Q-Park we believe parking should be a positive experience for our customers. Our high quality car parks are clean, bright, safe and secure and offer superb levels of customer service"

Sounds like in this instance they either failed or one of their staff is on the take or taking a break at a pre-determined or arranged time. I'm sure the company will be assisting to catch the scrotes to protect their image.

Invest in bike-trak the number of stolen bikes they recover in London and post on facebook is insane. I hate the thieving scum that does this.

Sorry to hear that mate, it happened to me a few weeks ago out of my garage.
My bike, all my luggage and most of my gear went as well never to be seen.
I hope you have better luck, keep us updated when you can.

All the best. :beerjug:

Really feel for you.

London seems to be the capital for bike theft? Not sure what else you could have done.

I have a GS but when thinking about leaving it out of site terrifies me. I am lucky enough to a have a yamaha fz6 for commuting or leaving out of sight. Only owes me £1200 and costs £7.80 to add to main bike policy. Appreciate the horse has bolted but another bike might be a consideration.

To be fair to the rozzers, they were there in 20 minutes, and the guy from Q-park as well, did the detail stuff there and then!
It's on the data base for the APNR thingy as well.
The lock I had was my trusted abus one, but they cut through it cleanly with angle grinder by the looks of it.
Q-park are going to look at cctv, but if they came in wearing there lids and left wearing them, it will hard to identify them.
This is my first bike theft in twenty years of biking and being in London, so it's not to bad considering my luck.
But if they want it enough they will take it.......
It's the ball ache of dealing with police, insurance and finding another bike!

It's not the fault of the police, it's the fault of the courts and law makers who really don't take theft of any kind seriously enough. Sorry to hear of your loss, hope the insurance company
do the right thing and treat you as a victim and not a criminal!
cheers

Sad to admit it, but I am in the same camp, I used to ride into town for meetings, now I don't, it costs my company more as it takes me longer to use public transport, but definitely not worth the risk if it can be avoided at all.

I agree with the BikeTrak, the only issue is in this case, that most QPARKS are underground, so wouldn't have a signal for the BikeTrak, so it would be rendered useless if they got it in the back of a van while underground......obviously the bike track would be active but it wouldn't get a signal out to the alert centre. Of course you'd hope at some point they would slip up and the bike would be exposed long enough to get a signal out, but I've learnt to never to underestimate the 'skill' of these 'proffesional theft groups'.

I 100% agree a tracker will enhance the security in a lot of situations though, so the original comment is valid, I just thought worth adding so people are aware, I am not trying to piss on any parade so to speak.

It works in the back of a van, mine alerted me when I forgot to turn it off when I was recovered. Worth every penny.
