I'm with Shep on this one, tank looks all wrong

I do like that

Some people just love to hate Harley's don't they.....

Custom bikes always divide opinion. Even within the custom bike community everyone is a critic. Of course you are unlikely to get many old skool chopper enthusiasts on this site anyway :cool

On ripple i might have cut a deeper tunnel in the tank and tipped it forward so the flat bottom of the tank lined up with the front cyl head.

In reality i'm never going to build a hardtail skinny chop anyway, if i build one it will be a bike equivalent of the 50's lo riders cars

Wide forks, narrow beach bars on risers, big fat wheels front and back, all matt silver grey, more cleverly engineered, than over polished tarts handbag, sort of Exile but fatter, an exile fat boy XL. Big stonking s&s motor with quiet (ish) pipes
The sort of bike thats not too obvious and needs looking at for a day or two to discover its cleverness.

Not too much to ask really:D

I'm not ...

... knocking the basis of these, nor do I underestimate the amount of vision and work required, I just feel the end result fails to satisfy my own criteria for a motorcycle :augie

as said before ,a custom bike or style only suits some ,i love old school chops ,and bobbers ,metalflake ,jockey shift ,mini apes .
the ctiteria for a motorcycle is to go ,stop and be reliable ,oh and be a harley ..
ill leave it for now ,it will allways divide opinion ,not one is right ,or wrong

I think the clue is in the word 'custom'...............

I'm actually rather liking the first one, the colours especially :) Not too sure about the upper fork/headstock shroud thing and small light, still trying to work out if I like that bit or not..............

What went through the builders mind when he made this?

Could be worse I suppose.
