What would be the acceptable discharge rate of a battery?
I have a spare battery (OE BMW Gel battery). I have fully charged it.
With the charger only just disconnected, I get 13.3 volts. This soon drops back to 12.6 V.
After 24 hours it's down to 11.9 V and a further 48 hours now reading 11.3 V.
I'll keep checking it over the next few days to see what the discharge rate is.
I have a decent battery charger that allows selection of charging for Gel and Wet batteries and it also acts like an Optimate by dropping into a minder mode once charged.
I'm trying to work out whether I'm just wasting electricity by keeping this battery hooked-up or whether I should just bin it.
