OK, the story so far.
Custom Hose in Watford:
Went up there and the chap looked over the bike. Considered doing the twin hose thing but there's not much extra room for the second banjo bolt at the master cylinder due to the handguard bracket.
He reckoned the best way to do it was with the little splitter the way bmw had done it. Didn't have the splitter in stock but said they could get 'any part the next day', so I said great, let's make that happen.
Phoned at lunchtime, no sign of the splitter, phoned at 3, still no sign of the splitter and they hadn't had time to chase it up. Phoned at 4 to find it had been sent by post not courier, so won't be here today, 'might' be here tomorrow or thursday.
Not exactly their fault, but given that they said they could have it done and made up by this afternoon, I'm not too chuffed. Another day that I can't work on the bike and I may not be able to tomorrow either.
Probably should have just gone to Silverstone to Earl's main office, still contemplating that for tomorrow. Will call Watford late morning, if the part's still not there, I think I'll head up the motorway and just get it done while I wait at Silverstone. I don't like taking trade away from a shop when I've said I'll buy something from them, but I also don't like waiting an extra couple of days when told something will be in at a certain time.
Good thing of the day though, I'd been trying to find red rubber grease and none of the local motor parts places seem to carry it any more. Eventually found a little shop who said 'oh I've got a tub of that in the back, bring a little pot down and you can have some of mine. What a nice thing to do, so I bought the brake cleaner and brake fluid from him. Sadly he's in the process of closing his shop down.
