Anybody got FaceTime to work?

Seems I'm not the only one who can't.

Apple ID works fin the iTunes Store, but when I try and connect to FaceTime it says "Unable to verify address"

Then says it will send an email with a verification link to that account, but never does.

If I try and create anew account with my email address its says an account already exists.

Seems to be thousands of people having similar problems.

used it with a few people using various combinations of mac, iphone and iPad. always worked ok with no fuss or set up.

not used it for a while, so that would have been on iOS4.

I had the same problem when I first set it up but I cant remember how I resolved it , sorry

Its worked fine since , facetime a mate in the US. The current versions of skype work better though and you can file share too .

Try chatting with one of the techs on the support page. They are very good and quick. Yes used FaceTime chatting with the Mrs when I am out. Works much better than Skype.

You have to click on the link in the email to verify the address otherwise it won't work.

If you didn't get the first e-mail there's a button somewhere to resend the verification email. Check you spam folder, etc too.
All working fine here on IOS5 on both 4 and 4S and with iMac/Macbook Pro.

Exactly what I did, but no verification email. Nor in the spam trap.
Odd because the email works fine in the iTunes store and I get messages from the store to the same address

I think there is a problem on Apple's end or it thinks your trying to spam the system. Just give them a call and they will reset it. It happened to me once with my MobileMe account.

My son, who refuses to use the telephone (land or mobile) now spends most of his evenings on FT on his iPad to his mates. They manage to play PS3 and FT at the same time .....

Connect to wifi 1st.
It wont work with 3G data unless it's jail-broken & installed with 'Fackbreak' app.
