Headlamp protector on ebay. Presumably fitted with those sticky velcro pads. Has anyone bought one or know if they are good quality ? A lot cheaper than the TT type or those ugly cattle grids some fit and I suppose with it being virtually against the glass, reflection shouldn't be an issue.

Thoughts ?

I have one that came with the bike of similar design.

It does cause some bounce back reflection up the screen and if it bothered me enough it would be easy to fix with some electrical tape.

Certainly cheaper than a new lens

I bought one and in my opinion it was crap, especially the fitting kit, which was cheap and nasty velcro, not even lock-tight velco.:spitfire Mine came off first time it rained!!!! And definatly no use for off-roading.

I bought a Wunderlich metal thing, much better.

My 2005 GS came with one fitted - 3 yrs later still on with no problems in the wet. Does its job.

what's wrong with cattle grids ?? :mcgun

I got one when I first bought my GS - 30,000 miles later and it's still going strong.

I've not had any problems with reflections/glare and there is a small scratch/dint in it where it did it's job in Morrocco last year.

I did put new velcro on it last summer though as the old stuff was getting a bit tired :thumb2

If is that bad, how about me giving it a second test for the price of postage and a small fee?

Cheeky!!:augie

I've got one too!

Replaced the velcro with those transparent sticky pads you can buy cheaply off Flea-Bay that are used for sticking metal tax disc holders on car windscreens.

Been on since last Jan, a trip to Spain etc. After 8.5k miles no problems although I do plan to replace them all as a precaution in the next couple of weeks:thumb2 I've also got the same set up on my 1150 without any problems.

Slight reflection but no real issue for me.

I've got one - its been on for 2 years rain, shine and off road, just make sure your headlight is clean before sticking them on. It reflcts light back up through the screen at night but a headlight peak sorts this
