Hi,

I got my SuperTen a couple of weeks ago and love it. I have had a GSA in the past and don't believe there is much in it.

The SuperTen feels quicker, build quality is great and I got the £1,600 accessory pack thrown in.

I think most people's objections are more about the price rather than the bike itself. I was able to cut a decent deal so I'm very happy with my choice.

It's nice to have something a bit different (but no less capable).

If you want to hear about any specifics, let me know.

Cheers rod appreciate the response, ive had a test ride on one and really liked it, i didnt take the wife on the back though can you tell me if you take a pillion and if so is it comfortable with the luggage on, ive also test rode the new moto guzzi ntx which i also liked but obviousley a different animal but there are few dealers about, ive got an 1198 ducati but the wifes nagging me to do some trips now so thinking to change my mates got a gsa dohc and i had a ride but wasnt that keen thats why im looking at the tenere, did it come with luggage or is thst extra. regards georg.

Certainly looks good in Black :thumb

Hi,

no problems with a pillion with the luggage fitted. Both rider and pillion seats are very comfortable (unlike my GS).

I bought mine in May and got the £1,600 accessory incentive thrown in (panniers, top box, crash bars, spot lights and winglets). Bought the larger screen shown in the pic (£99).

Really loving it. I think black is the best colour choice.

Were you at Newcome Brothers by any chance? I popped in there last saturday and was instantly offered a 'there and then' test ride on the Tenere.

I do actually like the look of it. How is the seat comfort ?

Yes, had a test ride at newcombes decided to have a look at something for touring always fancied a gs but had a go on my mates gsa new model and wasnt sure that it was for me, it went well and loved the look of it but the final drive issues worry me but wanted to compare the competion, may still revert to the gsa but the tenere was a great bike to ride, trouble is for me is ive only had sports bikes for the last 29 years and its a bit of a culture shock ive still got an 1198 ducati at the moment but not sure whether to sell it cant really justify two bikes or £20,000 sitting in the garage, but so far i like the tenere the best i think... regards george.

Intertesting read thanks for the link zoton, theses guys are serious riders i dont think my body could take it but there using the bikes for what they are built for unlike my 60 mile a day commute and one trip a year, hey ho each to there own, looks like the tenere out lasted the back up vehicle though.

Tenera

How heavy are these, a mates brought one but I havent seen it yet he reckons brilliant after his 1150.

Static wieght is about 260kg from memory but its nicely compacted so it feels less top heavy to push than the lighter 660z tenere or an 1150GSA. Once on the move the wieght seems to disappear and it easy peasy to get in on it side. from faded memory it steers better than my old ktm950adv or 1150GSA ever did and the oen tourance exp's seem to stick like shiet to a blanket, though my rear was a bit square at 3.4kmiles .

Yamaha have reduced the bike by a £1000, Starting to look good value now feel sorry for those who paid top dollar though!

Glad I did such a good deal on mine included loads of extras in the deal
think my dealer knew the price was dropping so let me have a large discount
love my bike way better than the 1200 gs and 800 gs I have owned in the past

Hopefully i can comment here when i get chance to pick mine up, its been sat in the dealers for 1 1/2 weeks just no time to pick it up :(
I researched them for a couple of weeks and had a short test ride, ride was ok everything fitted me and feels quality. Main mover for me was the reliability they seem to have and the fact the yanks/Aussies and east europeans havent broke one yet nor did Mr Sanders in 51k and 2 oil changes.
I also have an 1198 but thats staying :thumb

Picked mine up on Friday did 50 miles on it and felt quite good to be honest.

Went out today and did 110 miles on it and it now feels totally fantastic, and that is coming from the past 15 years of riding sports bikes (Gixer 750/1000's, R1, Fireblade)

So thank you Yamaha hears to the next chapter, bring it on :beerjug:
