Just done it with a second hand pair .Only a year old .Very easy to fit.Was told I needed new handlebars but phoned BMW and that was not the case, all the bars are pre-drilled.
Only bit that is not standard is the connecter under the tank.
The wire came with the slide on contacts but not the plastic clip connecter.Anyone know if you can buy the connecter seperately.
I have connected it ok but would like to make it standard.

Got warm hands now and well worth the £150:weights

BMW only charge £175 fitted. Mine cost me £100 or thereabouts for genuine new BMW ones, which I fitted when I got the bike. £150 for a second hand set seems a tad excessive to me. As I recall, all the necessary bits came with the kit and it plugged straight into the connector under the tank. At the time (2000) I was told that all (then) recent bikes had bar ends which accepted the grips (which mine did), but prior to that you had to buy new bar ends.

:)

Mmm.Did the kit include the switch (two position).I was quoted £300 (fitted )as the switch with starter switch etc. cost £100 itself.

Who cares about the money, think about the toasty warm hands !!!

I retro fitted mine, bought from Motorworks. Have also fitted 1150 handguards and have never looked back.

The standard socket is pretty shite anyway. Any quality disconnectable plug will do.

Makes last winter on a VFR seem like a nightmare. GS'es rule !
