Random request but I don’t suppose anyone semi local to Warrington has a BMW nav cradle they could lend me for half an hour is there? I was out testing a new CarPlay unit earlier and it went haywire and shut off. Got home and I’ve tried 4 units in the cradle and they all power on fine but none are being recognised by the bike (so I don’t get the Nav/TFT option in the top left).

Refitted the cradle recently but it doesn’t seem damaged in any way so I’m stumped as it was working fine.

When I got my new to me R1250GS 2023 a couple of weeks ago. The button that changed from TFT to NAV did not work.
I couldn’t operate the wonder wheel and the nav would not turn off when I turned the bike off. Nav unit is a Nav 6.

I’m not sure how I cured it. But it’s working now.

I did disconnect the battery, then reconnect. Then connected a GS911 tool to the bike and reset errors. Cleaned the contacts on the sat nav mount. Plus set to factory settings on the TFT.

It might sound obvious but.... make sure you clean the contacts both on the craddle and the nav. Make sure all the pins are in good condition, etc.

Contact cleaner and a soft brush (non metal) would be most recommended.

Already tried all that before I gave up

Contact cleaner, all pins move freely etc no corrosion. Reseated cables etc. getting power to it and can register 4v on the signal wire but none of my units I’ve got register on the dash as a nav. I have a feeling the new HFK HC50 I’m reviewing is the culprit as it went ape sh1t and glitched out big time on me

Have you got GS 911? You may just need to clear a fault for Canbus to re-establish the NAV circuit.

Sadly not and I don’t know anyone whose got one local unfortunately

That's what I'd be doing first, you may have more chance of finding someone with that (or motoscan) locally rather than a spare cradle.

Doing what you do, I would think having one of your own would be useful. you may even get a deal from Hex to review on the R1300.
The guys are on here and normally respond. And, If it solves your issue it would be good for them too.

Looks like Satellite Preparation(if that's what you're referring to cradle as) is faulty.

My Connected Ride Navigator(CRN) sometimes(randomly) doesn't respond to wonder wheel and that happens in the middle of a ride. I suspect either CRN or the satellite preparation is faulty or something do with electronics/wiring. I reported this to my dealer and they will investigate next week. You may have a similar issue. I have GSA.
