I ordered a Wunderlich headlamp grill for my 09 adventure from NN (still today shown on the web site - R1200GS ADVENTURE (mark 2 '08 on) page 14 top left item -WUN 816621).
So they send a Hepco Becker part 700-644 which does not swing down as is shown in the picture and anyway it does not fit the bike.
I have a most unusual telephone conversation with a member of staff at NN who obviously never looks at their site as he keeps telling me that the Wunderlich item has been withdrawn from the site and then when I eventually am allowed to request him to view the page while on the phone (because I tell him I'm actually looking at the 'withdrawn' item as I'm speaking to him) the phone goes dead!!!
So as its not what I ordered and it don't fit I send it back by recorded delivery.
I speak with someone at the end of last week (Friday) and when I explain that my card account has not yet been credited I am told that the credit was processed earlier in the day.
Its now Thursday pm and still no credit............not the end of the world (yet) but b****y irritating and I wondered has anyone else experienced similar problems?

Carrot I'm sure it's just an administrative issue and they are not trying to rip you off. Depending on the card you used to pay it can take up to 7 days for the credit to show.

If you believe it hasn't been done, contact your card issuer. If you paid by credit card, explain what has happened. They will then raise a dispute with NN. The amount will then be credited to your card and NN have 14 days to respond to the claim and either accept that the claim is valid or provide proof that the refund has been done.

Nope

Norman processed my credit very quickly with a Mudsling and even sent me an updated one - postage free on the original and replacement

Top firm:clap

Annette, You may very well be right...and I certainly hope that you are. However I'm not sure if its an age thing or related to the lunar cycle - but I find it irksome that when the money is going from me it happens like lightening when it's supposed to come back there is inevitably an administrative error.
The reason I raised the matter was just in case a number of members read the above and post to say "Well as it happens I also had a problem"..........and in that case I contact my card company and inform them the problem is theirs and not mine.

Johnny,
thanks for the reassurance- I'll keep my fingures crossed.......but I wont be holding my breath.

When it comes back the length of time is dependant upon your bank/card company and nothing to do with the issuer of the refund.

A refund is issued and the transaction is batch processed over night and leaves the refunders account the next day. Logically, it should be straight back with you, but the banks/card companies have to get that huge shortfall of cash from somewhere and it is in interest on YOUR money while they sit on it for a few days - sorry while it goes through their processing system.

You can also ask NN to email you a screen print of the refund transaction to prove it has been done, or if it was done manually to send you your copy of the transaction slip.

I ordered the wrong engine bars from NN (My fault as well):blast
They were very good and replaced with another set just paid for the postage. Always found the sevice very good.
