I'm sure it has been butchered a bit (doubt that's a standard rear mudguard for starters) but does anyone recognise what this is/was?

Sorry for the poor image, taken from youtube.

To me it's just one of those bikes that look 'right'. Any ideas?

So what's the verdict?

a) a beauuuuutiful machine, exquisite, I wish it was mine!

b) what a sin to do that, to what might have been a viable classic.

Call me a philistine but I don't think those things are that rare... I'd go with a). :D

If it's your bike then do what the hell ye want wi it. Most classics I've had definately benefit from a few "mod cons" anyway.

Paul,

Thats a lovely looking bike. Buy one :beerjug:

Ha ha, I guess we all have our own idea of what a perfect bike should look like.

For me, that's just about bang on the money, gorgeous.

It's uncanny that I might just be in the market for a 2nd bike any day now.....I'll let you know if that develops.

Not a G80 - its a trials model either G3C matchless or 16 (350) 02 18(500)c Ajs. Pretty sorted rigid trials machines. apart from the chopped rear mudguard that looks pretty standard. Heavy but really sweet handling (in the sections that is) and not bad ground clearance for a rigid.

The springer shown in the pictures is also a nice un' the pukka trials frames are extrememly rare.
