Anyone recommend accommodation on the West Coast near Newton Stewart

planning a trip next year to the Borders and are looking for a place to overnight with 4 bikes. Stayed before at the Creebridge House Hotel a good many years ago now. Any recommendations at all or even further west around Stranraer?

I've stayed in the Ken bridge hotel at New Galloway about 15 years ago coming back from France when I knew I wasn't going to make the late Ferry. It is beside the river and has a small campsite for hardy folk. It seemed a good spot at the time.

The Steam Packet inn at Isle of Whithorn could be good - they certainly do very good quality food

This - Its a pretty little place
Although I think its a bit steep price wise sometimes for the accomodation

thanks, Yes PP also recommended the Steam Packet Inn. Not too bad for a single at GBP 100.
Now I need to find somewhere near Barnard Castle. Will put up another help request

Middleton in Teesdale - just up the road

There are also 2 air BNB's right behind it, in its car park that are very good too

Wife and I stayed at the Creebridge House Hotel in late August 2025 - we really liked it. Good restaurant, safe parking for bike, quiet and handy for a wander around Newton Stewart if you wish.

A mate and I stayed here a few years back, plenty of off-road parking, decent sized room and lovely food in evening and for breakfast.
