As the title. I have tried the sucker from my Tomtom 720 and it seems to be pretty well attached in as much that I had to prize it off my screen.

Does anyone use the standard sucker supplied with the tomtom unit or is this a no go due to vibration, road bumps etc.

I never suggest to anyone to use a suction cup and the common mis-users are the :moped: scoot and maxi-scootriders where they fit onto the screen.

Some TT mounts have a twist lock or twist body style that I use :augie which offer greater adhesion and strength than that normally found in the box which is prone for giving way and numpty then tries to catch it whilst riding. As to vibration, you're right in your thinking so try a proper ball-joint mounting.

Sucker

I have used tomtom sucker mount for 2000 plus miles not dislodged so far! I use the GS engraving on screen as target. I have used foam pipe insulation to stop bouncing on top of tacho this also braces it well.

Interesting comments, I ordered the Ram mount from Ram Man's company and think it is superb and wasn't a lot of money (less than £30 IIRC), somehow I didn't feel confident that the sucker would hold on the GS screen and having had it drop off the windscreen of my car I could see myself making a wild grab as it falls off the screen and me and bike ending up in a hedge or worse. The major issue with the 720 is that it's not waterproof, so I just carry a couple of plastic bags for when the weather gets wet, not ideal but workable.

There's now a waterproof lockable case available for the 720 as per Ram-man:)
