Only thing I don't like about my GS is the indicator cancel switch being on the right. Coming out of a corner I don't want to be arsing around with that... finding it a lot harder to get a nice smooth exit. I'm getting used to it, but anyone know why the might have done that when (as far as I'm aware) most bikes have the cancel on the left??

I'm told on the GS they turn off after X blinks anyhow, but I'm thinking the Kisan Signal Minder looks a good option. Anyone here using one? With a 1200GS? Happy with it? Easy fit, or know someone who does?

Cheers, J.

Patience, Padowan, all in good time :D

C'mon man, you're a guitarist. I bet you can play a syncopated bass line with your thumb and pick a melody at the same time, so cancelling the indicators should be child's play....

Besides which I'm pretty sure that someone pointed out to you, several days ago, that the indicators auto cancel.

I had one on my 1150, but it's not needed with the 1200, and I believe doesn't work with canbus anyway. The indicators will switch themselves off after 30 seconds if I recall correctly.

Change your ride style and enjoy :aidan

I can do fancy finger things ;) and I will get used to it... just seems counter intuitive and don't get why they'd have done it this way?

Everything else seems to "fit" real well, just this one annoyance.

Some of the problems is perhaps the slightly too long thumb on my glove catching on the indicator below on the way up to the cancel...

I need a little Patience.... yeahhh, yeaahhh....

There is auto cancel, but it's too long to just forget about. Pressing the same indicator to switch it off (on the signal minder) seems a good way round it... but guess I'm just going to learn to live with it...

Justin you do get used to it, in fact my first bmw was a k1200s and i had that for two years, before i moved to the gs i test rode a few jap bikes and it drove me crazy trying to adjust back. now i would be really pissed off if bmw ever changed the gs to match the japs in this respect.
i like them this way, trust me in time you will to:beerjug:

As I am currently gearing up for my IAM test I thought it would be a good idea if I sort this out once and for all....

I was out around the Brecons frightening the livestock practising missing the left indicator.... at first I thought there would have been a lot of confused farmers and welsh drivers within earshot.... but then I happened across a forum lastnight with the theme topic "another fecking newbie BMW rider was about today"

Anyone who said ze germans dont have a sense of humour doesnt ride a GS; I'm sure in time I will get use to it...

There isn't a "This Thread Is Worhless Withoug a Link" smiley, but if there was I'd be using it
