I've just bought a 40GB iPod on Ebay, it came at the w/e , what an incredible bit of kit.I have loaded my hole CD collection onto it, the iPod lists each CD , each track on each CD, by Artist, Genre,etc ,etc you can select to play music by all the aformentioned.

The unit is a size of a fag packet , and does weigh much more.It'll hold 10,000 tracks , which is just slightly more CD's than I have , so room for development there !!..

Well impressed, bin the radio on the m/c , and off we go :P :P :P:

Just had my 20GB iPod delivered today from Apple. Cant get the bloody thing to work.

Dont think it is the iPod . Looks like its something to do with the firewire port on my iMac. Doesnt seem to think the iPOd is plugged in even when it is AND yet the bloody thing is charging up thru the firewire just like its supposed to.

Apple support couldnt helpm and suggested i tried the iPod in another machine i.e. If its not the iPod tough shit mate.

The iPod is a luverly bit of kit though, even the packaging is gorgeous!!!!!

Rushy, Sorry to hear about your problem, I'm running mine off Windows 2000, so I can't compare on your technical problem, I had a couple of minor issues , but really seamless this end :P :P

Does sound as if something else is using the port, I had that with a sound card some weeks ago , and the PC diagnostic's sorted it....just a suggestion.

Sorted it. It seems like you have to conect the ipod in a certain way. Especially if you put it in its dock to charge it ( the imac charges it thru firewire) but have not used it since you last sync'd.

Solution;
Always make sure you have used the ipod before next connecting it to the computer.
Connect the ipod to the computer with it ( the ipod) switched off and the hold button on ( last bit probably not really necessary)

Works every time now Podger, thanks.
