Arai Tour X

AND??

Come on then , put us all out of our misery.
Is it loud, is it comfy, is it practical, can you use it on a motorway?

Cheers

Tried one of these on today in J&S Greenwich. It seemed a little front heavy, but this might have been an illusion caused by the peak. Don't like the double "D" fastening much-any comments?

Ok I've now used it for over 3000 North African miles so can answer some of the questions.

H noise levels are nearer the full face Arai Quantum F that I use than to the Arai MX helmet I have been posing in along with my parade glossed unscuffed MX boots outside the local upwardly mobile cafe society "Petit Auberge".

David H if the SA80 is your benchmark, or more but less accurately the splintered walking stick - and about as useful, the M16 great if you spit tobacco, then the Tour X is the HK Phase III Piggyback - which is a sabre toothed multi tasking example of Teutonic craftsmanship.

Blackduck comfortable and practical - extemely, loud - see above, motorway - above 70 lots of buffeting because of the peak.

Duncan all Arai helmets have the D ring fastening I think and I suppose I've just got used to it - but not a problem.

Timmy Three Blonds Libyan cuisine makes one very fat and then, during the same meal, very thin. Suffice to say I ran out of Immodium!

Chris  :) ;)

Ah Young Masters joining us from the back of the class again rumour has it that you've been extolling the virtues of the "Daphne self inflating doll" marketed by Anne Summers, you wait 'til Friday...you just wait!

Chris :)

Couple of other questions:
Has it seen any Rain? I'm curious if would creep under the visor the way it sits?
Also could you remove the visor and use it more like an MX lid with peak and goggles?

Phil

Phil it's not seen any rain yet but as soon as it does I'll report back. Yes you can remove the visor although I just wore some shatterproof sunglasses and left the visor up when it got a bit too hot.

Lucky man - all the way to the south Med beach and you didn't get any rain. Did you ride all the way?

Greg

PS Is Daphne coming out to play today?

Greg bike was flown down via Malta, IT numpty :) followed.

Chris

PS Daphne is still beautifying herself in the workshop....but she'll be out to play soon! ;)

Ok Phil, aka the Bashplate, just got back from a bit of aquaplaning and the helmet was fine, no not the rocking helmet donated by Paul G you see to the left  , but the Tour X. A damp chin, due to the MX type larger guard, but no leakage at the seal where the visor sits.

Chris

Went looking for a try of this fine looking helmet yesterday and took in J&S in Greenwhich - fits impression (of the shop not the helmet) what a fleapit!!! Seems to cater for the bargain hunter £10 gloves, £20 coats etc!! Full of 16 year-old scooter hooligans (and thats just the staff!!).

Anyway found the helmet, they only had one in medium so no try on, looked nice (but not as good as the jampanese arai web site) but it was in the most disgusting colour scheme - yeukk!!

So anyone know of a decent store that stocks the grey in large/XL??

I went to Colin Collins in Harrow and they had a fair few on display
