Just bought a used but good tour x3 of here and found that the visor will not stay in the fully open position and keeps dropping down a notch, this is happening on the 2 visors i have.
I have taken them on and off a few times and double checked they are sitting right, i have also swapped the little black tags to opposite sides thinking they may have been slightly worn on the top.
Trawled the web for anwsers but nothing coming up with this issue.
Has anyone else had this and if so what parts have you replaced to fix it ? :beerjug:

Never had this issue on any of the arai helmets I've owned; might be worth locating either a local arai helmet stockist, or better still a 5 star arai dealership and taking it in for a service.

Last time I had the helmet service :D, it was free as no parts required replacing; they simply removed lining, refreshed it & the helmet inner, removed the outer pods, cleaned them and put it back together.

It might be worth looking @ the Arai website & find your local 5 start dealer and call them to discuss your reqts & they'll hopefully be able to advise you.

Sent an email to Arai uk and this was the reply
"Thank you for your query
We have seen this problem on a few of the Tour X helmets but there isn’t any real solution just yet. The problem goes away if you replace the visor and base plates but its costly and we are sure there must be a better solution to this. We are working with Arai at the moment to try and solve this issue, we will be in contact when we receive some more information
Kind Regards"

Not really the answer i was hoping for.

Yes the peak is fitted, i dont go over 80mph and shutting itself is not the issue, it wont stay in the fully open position and drops down a notch so it impares my vison. Not good when you do some trail riding and it drops downhalf way.

A massive thanks to Terry Birtles from Arai helmets.
I recently bought a second hand Arai Tour X3 helmet, after a few rides i noticed the peak would not hold up in the fully open position and would drop down very easily, i contacted Arai who advised on a few different replacement parts but that would be very costly, I then had an email from Terry who is the Divisional Brand Manager and after a few emails got the helmet sent back, it was repaired and returned and as good as new. All this at no cost to me.
