Ardennes. Anyone been?

You'll not go far wrong.

If you go to the ADAC website I pointed you to and have access to a good quality A3 printer, then print off the map.

It's perfectly adequate to print the 'All maps on one page' version; just scale it right for A3.

If you don't have a large printer, copy the PDF and drop into somewhere like ProntaPrint who will do it for you.

If you really get stuck, PM me your name and address and I'll print you one off.

From a very quick look at the ADAC map, Ettelbruck, Vianden, Wiltz or Clervaux would be good. At sometime or another I have stayed in or been through all four.

Alternatively, have a look at: Daun, Gerolstein, Sankt Vith. All good places that I have touched on in Wanders or on my own. A map really will be your best friend and the ADAC one makes life very easy. Trust me.

Hotels? Loads, all quite happy to cater for bikers of all sorts.
Indeed, this is not the UK where hotels and restaurants assume you're going to smash the place up. Hotels and restaurants positively welcome bikers and their disposable income.

I was riding south through Lux last weekend looking for some scruffy roadside place. Stopped somewhere likely looking that turned out to be a smart bistro restaurant. Couldn't have been more welcoming, found space for my bulky gear and did it all with a smile. I looked around and all my fellow diners were in their Sunday best, but not a hint of judgement. One of the great things about francophone eating is nobody cares who you are or what you wear, everyone's there for the bouffe.

For a couple of pre-planned trips, go to the Tour 2014 section of the RiDE website

There's a three-day trip based around Spa (ride out, one day in the Ardennes, ride back) or a four-day trip around Luxembourg (ride out, one day in Luxembourg - with lunch in Vianden, one day in the surrounding countries, ride home). All routes can be seen in Google Maps and downloaded as GPX files for Garmin/Navigator
