How do you get there, how long does it take, is it worthwhile going ?

Take the A82 to Corran Ferry, about 8 miles South of Fort William. The crossing is only a few hundred yards but can take up to 1/2 an hour as they wait till the ferry is about full before leaving. Cost £1.80 on the bike.
The Ferry drops you on the East shore of Loch Linnhe at Ardgour which consists of an Inn and a few houses.
Hang a left (south west) on the A861 and head for Strontian which is 14 miles away, the road takes you further along Loch Linnhe then west along Glen Tarbert, it’s a great wee road. Just watch out for the sheep.
From Strontian its single track along the north shore of Loch Sunart, past Resipol which has a nice wee campsite, onto Salen. Its not a bad wee road, just watch out for the locals who seem to be doing a good job of impersonating Colin MacRae. :mmmm
Hang a left again at Salen onto the Ardnamurchan Peninsula the B8007, this single track has been re-surfaced in the last couple of years but its not a road where you can “make progress.” An hour to complete the 25 miles out to the point would be reasonable. This track takes you through Laga, Glenborrodale (the big hoose is worth a wee peak,) Glenbeg and Ardslignish where the road cuts inland close to Ben Hiant before heading back out to the coast at Kilchoan, here you can catch a ferry over to Tobermory on Mull.
From here you are only 7 miles out to the lighthouse, at Achosnich look out for a signposted left turn that takes you the last couple of miles to the point of Ardnamurchan Lighthouse.

After retracing your steps along the Ardnamurchan Peninsula you take a left at Salen to Acharacle, and then on past Glenuig to the A830 at Lochailort. Left again (I like taking a left!) to Mallaig where you can get the Armadale ferry to Skye or, take a right heading past Glenfinnan and onto Fort William.
How long does it take?
Allow 6 hours for this wee run, you will want to stop and take pictures. There are plenty of view points, some with picnic tables to stop for an al fresco lunch or you could call into the Ardnamurchan Natural History Centre. The 50 mile round trip on the peninsula will take you about 2 hours without a stop !

Is it worthwhile going ?
Well, it’s the most westerly point on the UK mainland, it has a variety of spectacular scenery, sections of fantastic sweeping road with a great surface, contrasting the blind single track with gravel and grass down the middle.
If you ride a GS, you'll love it. :D

And Ardnamurchan Point is a nice trip - I'd get the Kilchoan Ferry to Tobermory and turn it into a bigger trip.
