Hi All
Whilst I'm waiting for my KTM to sell, i've been searching the internet adverts for GSs to try and gauge their value. Seems to me that ABS is very desirable and ones without dont seem to command the same sort of prices?
Are there many about without ABS? Is it really a must have? Any other extras that are desirables and good for resale time or is it just a case of they sell better with everything on, so to speak?
Many thanks
Dave.

It's a greate price reduction value if you get them together with the bike, coz buying them after will cost you a fortune. :D
So i'd recommend the bikes that have them.

If gettin' 1100 - sure i recommend ABS, not sure on those servos on 1150s though, lot of dirty storyes go around you know... But the truth is out there somewhere, you may always remove the ABS too or switch off on all models. :)

I really like heated grips myself - couldn't imagine life w/o them anymore, hand protectors keep your hands additionally warm.

RID (Rider Information Display) comes in hand getting the clock, fuel level, engine temperature and gear number indicator.

All fine stuff...

BUT - sure not that primarly required though. Just some luxury stuff :) (but i really recommend them though :D)

Hi Taipan, IMHO, I think heated grips are essential, (I actually turned down a beautiful '02 GS without then), but ABS is not. The reason second hand examples command less without these features, is the grips were a £175 extra and the ABS cost the first owner around £790. Personally, I think you should buy the best example that you find with the features that YOU think you need. Enjoy! :beerjug:

Except that it's quite easy (& not toooo expensive) to have your dealer retro-fit heated grips - I did this with an RT. I wouldn't have turned down an immaculate bike for the want of heated grips, but I think they are essential to have. ABS - £750 to have as an option; I bet you wouldn't lose that much on resale so, again, I don't think it's necessary to buy a bike with ABS.
